NDIS plan reviews: a calm preparation checklist

June 24, 2026

Six weeks out, two weeks out, the night before — a gentle plan.

Plan reviews don't need to be dramatic. With a bit of structure they can even be a chance to celebrate the year.

Six weeks out

  • Open the current plan and re-read it cover to cover.
  • Make a list of what worked, what didn't, and what we need next.
  • Email each provider asking for a brief report of progress against goals.

Two weeks out

  • Collate provider reports and pull out three to five stories of progress in the participant's own words.
  • Decide on one or two new goals for next year.
  • Confirm logistics: time, venue, who'll attend, whether you want a support person.

The night before

  • Pack the folder (or share the digital pack with the planner in advance).
  • Talk through the meeting plan with the participant in their preferred format.
  • Have a quiet evening. You've done the work.

On the day

You don't need to remember everything. Your notes do that. Speak to the goals, not the diagnosis.

Plan reviews are easier when you treat them as a check-in, not an exam.
