Writing case notes that age well
Notes you'd be comfortable reading back in a plan review.
Case notes in Blumi are searchable, shareable and (potentially) subpoenable. Treat them with care.
Do
- Date and time every note (Blumi does this automatically).
- Stick to observable facts and verbatim quotes.
- Separate observation from interpretation: use the Reflection field for opinions and hypotheses.
Don't
- Don't editorialise in the observation section.
- Don't share another participant's information by name.
- Don't paste private medical detail unless it's clinically necessary and consented.
Hand-off
Tag teammates with @name when a note needs eyes — they'll see it in their inbox.
